The Scottish Conservatives have selected Hannah Powell as their candidate for the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary elections in Aberdeen Donside.
(Aberdeen Donside includes Dyce, Danestone, Bucksburn, Bridge of Don, Kingswells, Hilton, Northfield, Mastrick, and Sheddocksley.)
Cllr Hannah Powell (Central Buchan) was selected by local members after promising to prioritise local issues such as schools, GP practices, and the Oil & Gas industry. The state of Aberdeen's roads was also a serious concern.
She will stand on the Scottish Conservative manifesto which includes overturning the SNP's presumption against new Oil & Gas, more funding for potholes, and tackling Scotland's drug horror with the Right to Recovery Bill.
Cllr Powell said:
'Aberdeen needs a change from SNP failure at both Scottish Government and Council level. I will provide that change.'
'Only the Scottish Conservatives are putting forward sensible, pragmatic policies that oppose the cosy consensus that exists between the SNP, Labour, and Lib Dems in Holyrood. This includes income tax cuts of up to £444 to make work fairer, dualling the A9 and A96, and a common sense approach to day to day issues such as protecting women's spaces.'
'I will be campaigning hard to earn your support'
